When the Covid-19 pandemic began in 2020, my mind became weary, and I didn’t write for a long, long time.

When I began to get my bearings again, I implemented a little discipline for myself. It turned out that what I needed was a deadline to get started again.

What was an initial deadline became a weekly one, and that’s how On the Common came to be. Each week I write an essay and provide you with links to things I’ve been reading and listening to.

I named it On the Common because I grew up in a New England town with a town common in the middle; these spaces used to function as places for the community to flourish. It’s my hope that my little newsletter lends itself for flourishing, as well.

It’ll be waiting for you every Thursday morning. Subscribe here. Thanks!
